Aprehend® is composed of fungal spores applied in a proprietary process. Aprehend® is sprayed strategically in narrow bands where bed bugs are known to travel, direct spray contact is not necessary. Adult and nymph bed bugs are killed within four to ten days of brief contact with a treated surface. Aprehend does not reliably kill eggs on its own, but it reduces hatching when sprayed directly on them, and newly hatched nymphs die after crossing treated areas. The fungal spores germinate within 20 hours of contact and then penetrate the cuticle of the bed bug and colonize inside, resulting in death.
